Indie Game Spotlight: Gateways, Lone Survivor, Papers Please

Indie Game Spotlight

This week I wanna do something a little different. Over the past few weeks, I’ve played a lot of indie games to quell the drought of new releases in the early months of the year. In particular, there were three games that deserve attention and rather than split them up into separate articles I figured it made more sense to talk about them all at once especially with the Steam and GOG.com summer sales in full swing. The three games are Gateways, Lone Survivor and Papers, Please. Read the rest of this entry

Watch the Uncharted 4 Trailer in 1080p

I think the massive slaughter of ethnic minorities has finally sunk in.

Naughty Dog has released an even prettier version of the Uncharted 4 trailer. Following Sony’s E3 media briefing last week, Naughty Dog posted a 1080p version of the E3 trailer that runs at 60fps. The trailer can be viewed on Naughty Dog’s website but you won’t be able to stream it properly without a powerful PC.

Top Three of E3 2014

This year’s edition of E3 was one the strongest I can remember mostly because the focus was on actual games. Thus, I found it very difficult to narrow down all the games that I liked to a list of three. Now that I’m done talking about media briefings it’s finally time to focus on what actually matters. I will only talking about games that showed actual gameplay so games such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End are out. Before I get to my top three games, there were plenty of games worthy of honourable mention so here they are in no particular order: Yoshi’s Wooly World, Sunset Overdrive, Tom Clancy’s The Division and Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition Ex Plus Alpha. E3 2014: Aftermath

With E3 2014 about to wrap up the fourth and final day, it’s safe to say that most, if not all the big news has already been made. This year’s edition of E3 was well-executed across the board. None of the press conferences contained a single embarrassing moment worthy of an internet meme as we’ve seen in previous years. Unlike last year’s event and the year before, it isn’t clear who “won” E3 as just about everyone had a strong showing.

From this day forth, I will refer to the Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One as Current-Gen.

Bioware teases Mass Effect 4 and New IP

The next installment in the Mass Effect series is in development, along with a brand new IP. Featured Game: Resident Evil 6

Oh how times have changed. A decade ago, the Resident Evil series meant something completely different to the common gamer. Capcom’s blockbuster franchise was both the pioneer and single-largest bastion of the survival horror genre. Resident Evil 6 strays as far as it conceivably could from what the Resident Evil games once stood for but it would be false to suggest that this in an entirely bad thing.
